With the vast explosion in knowledge and technology subspecialty has become a necessity for both science and patient care in all fields of medicine. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at King Abdulaziz University hospital (KAUH) had already taken the lead in establishing sub-specialization in both fetal medicine and reproductive infertility. Our experience during the past 10 years have clearly demonstrated not only the large load of work, once the specialty became available, but also the importance of setting up a specialized multidisciplinary unit. We recognize the importance for patients to be seen quickly by our specialists so we offer rapid turn around in getting patients into the clinic, determine the course of treatment, and getting started on the treatment approach quickly . Currently KAUH enjoy the presence of high caliber specialist in the fields of medical oncology, radiotherapy and rehabilitation medicine. Hence it is our duty to build on those facilities and initiate the establishment of “Gynecological Oncology Unit”
