About the Gynecology Oncdlogy Unit

In line with the development of the great scientific, medical and expansion of human and material resources, which in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques - may God protect him - and under the wise guidance of the Rector of the University in support of the creation of specialized units and centers of excellence at the University of the founder and the encouragement of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Department of University Hospital .
Our progress and a project for a women's oncology unit in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology University Hospital, King Abdul Aziz to be the nucleus of a Center of Excellence for Women's Cancer We ask God Almighty to achieve the following objectives:
1. Advisory service and treatment of cases of Gynecologic Oncology at the level of the Western Region in the Kingdom.
2. Create educational programs for women's tumors in Saudi society
To raise awareness among women through seminars and manuals
3. The establishment of preventive programs for women's tumors in Saudi society, especially cancer of the cervix to provide a means for early detection and vaccination of its own
4. The application of an educational training program for doctors in the field of Gynecologic Oncology at the level of specialization and year of birth and women at the level of specialization of the women's tumors (fellowship).
5. The establishment and follow-up research projects in the field of oncology and women that are beneficial to raise the level of health care for women in Saudi Arabia and the Islamic world.
6. Follow-up treatment for patients, especially those who Bhtajon chemotherapy where a lot of chemotherapy is not available at the University Hospital in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare
7. Working to ensure that home care for patients who they need in collaboration with the Department of home care in hospital
Has approved the establishment of the unit by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine to ratify the decision of the Council of Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology II held on 31.10.2009 and the Medical Council, which adopted the third meeting held on 02.06.2010.
With the help of God Almighty and under the patronage of His Excellency Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Shaheen was the opening of the unit on Sunday 08/07/1431 H corresponding to 06/20/2010 at 12 noon in the auditorium of the Great Hospital, King Abdulaziz University.
